Politics Or Sports?
Olympics in 1896 were inaugurated at Athens for the sportspersons of the world as the ultimate championship, but the spirit of the games was participation in games rather than winning. The friendly and sporting spirit shown by the long jump winner Jesse Owens (USA) and the loser Luz Long (Germany), exemplified the spirit of the games in Berlin in 1936, in the aftermath of the World War 1. Unfortunately now sports are clouded by politics. The Moscow, Los Angels and Seoul Olympics were witness to boycott of games by teams for political reason. If sports are free from politics it would be good for the game.
