The changing contour of climate is not a matter that could be taken lightly. Man has unwittingly done and continues to do things that are detrimental to the very existence of earth. In the name of development we have produced tons and tons of harmful wastes. The discarded batteries of the automobiles and the electronic equipment, the discarded computer hardware are lying littered all over without that being degenerated as organic waste, thereby harming the mankind. The generation of electricity by the coal, water, or the nuclear based technology is producing great amount of carbon source that is leading in turn to the global warming.
The abundance of sunlight that is available the world over should be harnessed to generate power, since that happens to be the safest and greenest of all powers. The solar power could be used in lighting the highway, at home, in industry and in running an automobile also. Other forms of non conventional energy should also be tapped such as the wind mill and the bio-fuels to benefit mankind in the long run. In US, the government encourages the use and installation of the photo-voltaic solar energy system by extending friendly loans for buying the system, which works successfully in all climates.
The rising temperatures the world over has at last sent shiver down the spines of the governments the world over. It could be said without much calculations and interpolations that if the trend is not arrested, a great part of the world would stand to become desert areas within the next fifty years. If we have to live ever happily in this universe we necessarily have to work in reducing the carbon emission and work against the ozone depletion. In this, not only the government, the scientists, the industry and we the people of this beautiful world have a huge role to play.
